This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you use Qoxa, a local-first app for tracking gear usage, service intervals, maintenance history, and related reminders. You can use Qoxa without creating an account.
Qoxa is built around a personal equipment care workflow: gear profiles (such as camera bodies, lenses, bicycles, and watches), usage metrics like shutter counts or mileage, service thresholds, maintenance logs and checklists, Care/Watch attention lists, Insights summaries, optional photos of gear or receipts, and optional voice notes you attach to service records. Most of this ledger lives in on-device storage so you can open and update it offline.
Because the app stores records you enter, it is not accurate to say Qoxa processes “no data.” Instead, processing is centered on the content you add for your own archive and care planning.
Qoxa only requests system permissions when a related feature needs them:
You can change or revoke permissions later in system Settings. Declining a permission typically limits only the related feature.
Core gear records, usage logs, service history, preferences, attached images, and optional service voice notes are stored on your device. Qoxa does not require a Qoxa account or cloud login to maintain your ledger.
Network activity may occur when the app opens policy pages in an in-app browser, when the operating system delivers App Store services, or when you explicitly share an export through system share options you choose. Those destinations are controlled by you or by the system provider for that action.
Qoxa relies on Apple platform frameworks such as SwiftUI, SwiftData, UserNotifications, WebKit, StoreKit, and AppTrackingTransparency. It does not embed a separate third-party analytics or advertising SDK for behavioral ads. When you interact with system share sheets, notification services, or App Store components, those Apple services process information under their own terms.
Records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, clear app data, or remove the app. You can update gear and service entries at any time, remove photos or voice notes you attached, and adjust reminder or attention settings. If you clear all gear data from within Me, ledger content is removed while certain local preference values may remain until you reset the app or its storage.
Exports you save or send outside Qoxa are thereafter under your control (and the policies of any destination you pick).
Qoxa uses on-device storage and standard platform protections available on your iPhone. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly risk-free. Protect device access with your passcode or biometric lock, and be careful when sharing exported reports that may include serial numbers, locations, receipt images, or references to attached voice notes.
Qoxa is intended for general personal equipment care, not for children as a primary audience. Do not submit information about children if you are not authorized to do so. The app is not designed to collect special categories of sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily place in notes, images, or voice notes.
If Qoxa’s features or data practices change in a meaningful way, this policy may be updated. The effective date above helps you see which version applies. Continued use after an update means you have had a chance to review the revised text.
